Project Management Overview - (1-2 day)

Participants in this introductory one-day course work in teams on a standard case study and learn a common-sense planning and tracking methodology. Globally recognized practices are reviewed in this fast-paced and active format such as: Triple Constraint Management; Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Facilitation; Resource Definition and Assignment; Bottom-up Estimating; Communication Network Planning; Change Control Management; Risk Management; and Resource Planning.

Learning Outcomes

Create clear, measurable goals and outcomes for a project
Align project goals and outcomes with organization’s business environment
Create a Work Breakdown Structure, and enter in Microsoft Project
Estimate task requirements
Identify task predecessors and successors, set task logic and analyze critical path
Assign resources
Conduct risk management and adapt project plans to ensure success
Determine required project reporting
Update and analyze project progress
Assess project performance and identify improvement areas
