Project Management
Simulation VX-1 Software Workshop
Welcome
to the world of VX-1. You, the project manager, will work out of your new
office. It's a very convenient place. As you move your mouse around, you can see
many difference items. Click on individual objects to access them. For example,
when you move your mouse over the charts hanging on the wall, you can click to
access the charts and graphs available for you to use. These charts include a
tracking Gantt chart, a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) chart and various graphs
for measurements and comparisons of all the important elements of your project.
The computer on
your desk sends and receives your email. Don't forget to use it. It is a
valuable means for communicating and doesn't take much time. Imagine “walking”
into your office through your computer and interacting with all the elements of
managing a project. You can live events and participate in them as they unfold.
You can direct them, change them or just watch them unfold. You determine your
own goals. You can plan a virtual project, talk with virtual people who respond
to your actions, handle a virtual budget, and struggle with natural events and
more. Reality is in your control. You can “see” all the consequences of your
decisions, actions and reactions. You go beyond the static representations of
the printed word into the dynamic simulations of the computer-generated world.

Workshop Design Philosophy
Today individuals and
organizations depend not only on their ability to learn new information but also
how to think, question, explore, create and continually grow. Our business
environment has demanded changes. We are now a learning culture as never before
in history. Consequently, the training goals of today need to ignite people’s
total capacity for thinking, problem solving, innovating and learning.
Management gurus Peter Senge and Fred Kofman say that management may be one of
the few professions in which members attempt to achieve competence without
formalized practice and suggest that managers need to have 'virtual learning
spaces' that would enable them to gain learning experiences in a low-risk
environment. This means training with a variety of methods. Simulation is one
such method.
Data
shows that computer-based training is cost effective: 30% more learning in 40%
less time at 30% less cost. Our project management simulation software will
provide the user with faster learning and better retention, enhance the user’s
problem solving capability and be more cost effective. Participants keep the
VX-1 software and continue learning from their desktop.
